HaPpY V~dAy!

So today of all days my husband is working... I know sad valentines day right? It's not to bad. He came home with a blue ray dirty dancing:), flowers, then made me breakfast this morning! Such an amazing man!!!
Today was my first day fullfilling my new calling Primary Music Director. I've been moved around so much I think they finally figured that they could have a leader who knows all the childrens names. Seriously, the only class I haven't taught in Primary are the new sunbeams, all others covered and accounted for. So today I did a lil' lesson on He Sent His Son. If you know they song you know there are questions then there are answers. So luckily from the help of another chorister's blog I saw the idea Door #1 or Door #2. What you do is have the answers to the questions behind one of the doors and the wrongs behind another. Then you have a kid choose a door see if they picked the right answer and go ahead with it that way. Since it was valentines day I tried to incorporate that into my lesson. Under each chair was a heart with "way to sing your heart out" written on it. There were five different colored hearts while the others were pink and red. So I choose a color (blue) the one person with that color came up and picked the door. It went well I think, considering it was my first time and I had the stake primary there to watch my every move. lol It was fun. This calling is going to be a lot more time consuming then my other calling but I think just as rewarding. The thing I focused also on which I thought I would share with you all was the importance of Valentines day spiritually. I never really thought of Valentines day as being a spiritual thing but when you think of it you always think of Love. The greatest expression of love ever given to mankind was through the suffering and pain of the atonement. Christ loved us so much that he carried a weight unbearable for all others so that we could return to him. The thing is how do we return that love, do we accept or reject his message. Do we love our families but hate our neighbors? Do we give service only when it's conveniant for us? Do we try be cool with our friends instead of "trying to be cool" to the one who matters most? Our Savior set a pathway before us so that we can follow him and live with him again. So this valentines day think about sharing His Love to all!
